" It is with deep sorrow that we have seen Shane Thompson's last innings and the end of his fine wicket keeping. He had truly developed as a fine cricketer, a perfect gentleman, a great friend and an excellent captain, and at the time of his accident was ready for his next season. He will be remembered by all for his work in the clubs administration, it's social activities and with the juniors as well for his outstanding above mentioned qualities. The gap he has left in the club will be hard to fill. "
